Hello again…Wednesday night the Saint Louis Billikens travel to Athens, GA to take on the Bulldogs at 7PM. If you can’t make it to the game, it will be shown live on television…I repeat, it will be shown live on television on CSS – Channel 45 for you Comcast customers. This is a rare opportunity to actually watch the Dawgs on TV before they get into their SEC schedule (no offense to the 750AM broadcast team cause I think that they do a great job with the games).
First things first, I will provide a definition of the word Billiken as I promised I would yesterday. A Billiken is defined as a charm doll created by an American art teacher, Ms. Florence Pretz, who is said to have seen the mysterious figure in a dream. Apparently, if you buy one it is considered good luck, and it if you give it to someone it’s considered even better luck. If someone gave me a Billiken, I think I would consider it a terrible gift.
Here is what I know about this Saint Louis team – they played previously ranked Notre Dame pretty close last week, losing by only 12 points and being down by only 3 at half. Their star player is a 6’9″ sophomore named Willie Reed who dropped 20 points/15 boards on that giant Notre Dame Shrek impersonator Luke Harangody so he must be pretty solid inside. Thompkins should have his hands full.
They do appear to only play 6 guys, so hopefully the Dawgs can get out in space and run with Ware & Leslie.
This Saint Louis team is young, but they are still from the A10 and should probably give the Dawgs a game. Hopefully UGA can avoid the same slow start that they had against UAB & Wofford so that they aren’t spending the whole second half trying to climb out of a hole.
See you guys closer to game time!
