“Don’t Sleep on the Dawgs”

ESPN college basketball analyst Andy Katz listed Mark Fox‘s Georgia Bulldogs at #25 in his “revised top 25 for the 2010-2011 season“.

There is also a link on this page for the ESPNU podcast in which Katz and fellow college basketball analyst Doug Gottlieb talk more about Katz’s rankings.  If you fast forward in to about 35 minutes into the podcast, you will here both analysts praise the Dawgs – Gottlieb refers to Travis Leslie in admiration as the “Human Highlight Film” – and Katz’s goes on to project Fox’s team to make a run in next year’s NCAA Tournament!

I have never been this excited for an upcoming UGA basketball season.

  1. Just one year with the Dawgs and THE FOX has sports media picking them for the top 25. Better yet, the Hoop-Dawgs are relevant again… and fans will be talking about them this year. I’m with you! It’s going to be a great 2nd season for the Fox Hounds!

  2. BOOM! Take that Texas, WV, and Wisconsin.

Katz seems to think the SEC East will be stacked with four nationally ranked teams. Should be a very exciting season indeed.

  3. Excitement abounds, I can’t wait for the release of the schedule in August, aside from the tough SEC schedule, we have the Old Spice Classic, Ga Tech, UAB, St. Louis, and rumors are we are starting a home and home with Miami, Fl. Go Dawgs.

  5. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up! The Basketball Endowment Fund is open for donations for next year. $150 per seat. No time like the present to get in and start building your donation base. I can’t believe I am more excited about the upcoming Bball season than football.

  6. The “3” position is the one that we need to strengthen most. Travis, as big as he plays, is a future “2” in the pros. MT the position is waiting to be filled by a hard worker like you. Hope to see you in Athens.
